SATYRIC DREAMS - by Mark Philip Stone - Including Mathemetaphysical Sketches by Mark Pilipski

Mark Philip Stone is a Monstré Sacré, the cousin everyone dearly loves yet never discusses in polite conversation. His opinions border on revolution. He reminds us that his creed is; Sexuality is Creativity. "Polymath, author, scientist, artist, photographer; he moves with facility over several genres allowing them to seamlessly overlap, he simply does not see the boundaries that constrain the rest of us." 1 His current artistic works portray select emotions in photographic form. For the pieces in this exhibit, we see the interplay of form and dimensionality; from a privileged perspective, one-dimensional lines become two-dimensional figures.
He is an artist in residence at The Blackfeather Retreat Artists' and Writers' Colony in the rural town of Westbrookville, NY.
The mathematical drawings by Mark Pilipski began as an investigation into the relationship between prime numbers and elliptical curves.

"Music-Dan will play"
The artist know as DAN resides in Orange County NY. He graduated in 1974 from the Music and Art High School. DAN held the guitar seat for the Swing Shift Orchestra, a 19 piece Big Band for five years. "The best years of my life were at M&A, studying voice and guitar, and forming the Cat's Cradle Blues Band playing in various NYC venues, like the Bottom Line and Little Carnegie Theater, The West End Bar, and in Central Park. I met a wonderful array of talent in this period of my life including some famous artists. The songs featured on my page are compositions that I have had in mind to do for a very long time had finally came to fruition by putting together an orchestra willing enough to work cheap, for the love of the music. A video recording of Dan singing a blues version of Freddie King's "Have You Ever Loved A Woman", was recorded in Middletown NY in 2012. Performers featured in this video are local musicians to the area and the filming of this session was entirely uncut and spontaneous. Dan graduated from CCNY's Picker Film Institute in 1976 and released a short film entitled "A Visit", winning a NYC city-wide short film award for best short, he then attained another degree from the State University of New York, College at New Paltz, New Paltz NY in 1980.
Theseus in the Labyrinth A new play by Mark Philip Stone will be presented for your entertainment and review in a 'Coffee House' setting, on stage at the Absinthe Café.

Artists must bring their own materials!

Come to the Black Feather Retreat Artists' and Writers' Colony in beautiful Sullivan County, NY (a little more than one hour from NYC) and spend a day with artists and art lovers. Experience the pastoral pleasure of clean fresh air, private meadows, woods, streams, springs, ponds, gardens, stone walls, old barns, country roads and the delightful company of others, like yourself, who enjoy sketching, the human form, art, reading, listening and writing. We have planned a wonderful day of many different types of activities. We will awaken your senses with a delicious brunch and begin a continuous series of figure model sessions, lasting until late afternoon. Rain or shine, you will have a wonderful day filled with art. The large Studio Barn (an 18th Century structure) will provide our work space and stage, if it rains, otherwise, there will be ample seating at chairs and tables in the meadow or, if you prefer, you may spread a blanket on the lawn or wander the grounds at will all day. Aside from the scheduled program of figure models, brunch, dessert, and performances, there will be music, poetry readings and amenities such as water, drinks, maps, toilet facilities, and a friendly staff to help you enjoy the day. Despite the beauty of the surroundings, this is an adult program and we do not recommend that you bring children to this program. The pool will be closed for this day. Attendees will be admitted FREE to our Cabaret Evening in the Café Absinthe. You will be delighted stepping back in time to a Parisian Café.
