Come to the Black Feather Retreat Artists' and Writers' Colony in beautiful Sullivan County, NY (one hour from NYC) and spend a day with poets and poetry lovers. Experience the pastoral pleasure of clean fresh air, private meadows, woods, streams, springs, ponds, gardens, stone walls, old barns, country roads and the delightful company of others, like yourself, who enjoy listening to and reading poetry.
Performances and readings throughout the day: Haiku, Shakespeare, Psalms, Beats, Rap, Musicians, Free Verse, Bound Verse, Re-Verse, discussion groups, lectures, writing workshop sessions, and other activities.
Our day of poetry will end with readings that will recreate the atmosphere of the Beat Generation. Poems of the '50s will be presented as bongos play; followed by an "Open Mic" Poetry Slam.

Have your poetry presented at the Poetry, the Other Voice - A Day of Poetry in the Catskills. At the Black Feather Retreat in Westbrookville, NY. If your work is selected for presentation you will be asked to read it at the Day of Poetry. You may or may not wish to do so (not everyone can stand in front of an audience and perform their own works.) If you do not wish to read your own work, one of our resident readers will present them for you. Also, a representative of Markov Press will be on hand to discuss publishing strategies.
