  Advance registration is $45 for the full day.  (This includes lunch.)
   Without pre-registration the fee is $60.00 at the gate on the day of the event. 
 Please call and let us know that you are coming.

    Artists and students attending either of these sessions will be responsible for bringing their own supplies (sketch books, canvases, easels, pens, charcoals, pastels, pencils, etc.) Chairs will be provided.
     Spend a day sketching and working with other artists, models and art lovers.
     At the Black Feather Retreat, experience the pastoral pleasure of clean fresh air, private meadows, woods, streams, springs, ponds, gardens, stone walls, old barns, country roads and the delightful company of others, like yourself, who enjoy art. We have planned a mix of many figure models for each program.
      Rain or shine, you will have a wonderful days filled with art. A large tent will provide shade, there will be ample seating at chairs and tables or, if you prefer, you may spread a blanket on the lawn and picnic all day. If it rains we will hold our sessions in the large studio barn, a beautiful 18th century structure. Aside from the scheduled program of models, there will be live music, and amenities such as water, drinks, box picnic lunches, maps, toilet facilities, and a friendly staff to help you enjoy the day. The pool will be closed for this day.

The Day's Activities Include a Mix of Many Figure models

11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Non-stop model sessions (long and short poses)
  1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Lunch Break
  2:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Non-stop model sessions (long and short poses)

DIRECTIONS to the BLACK FEATHER RETREAT:

From NYC:
GWB to the Palisades Interstate Parkway North to the NY Thruway.
Take the NY Thruway North to Exit 16 (Harriman.)
Take Route 17 W to Exit 113 (Wurtsboro.)
Make a left turn on to Route 209. (Look at your odometer.) Go 4.8 miles along Route 209.
The entrance to the Black Feather Retreat is on the right, 1833 Route 209.
(If you enter the little town of Westbrookville, you have just passed the entrance.)

From NJ:
Take the Garden State Parkway North until it ends at the NY Thruway.
Take the NY Thruway North (Follow the signs for Albany) and then follow the directions above.

From PA:
Enter NY State through the city of Port Jervis.
Take Route 209 North for 12 miles
As you leave the little town of Westbrookville, the entrance to the Black Feather Retreat is on the left.

By Train:
From Hoboken board the Main Line to Otisville, NY.
(Please, check the train schedules!)
If you make arrangements in advance, we can provide car service from the train station.
