BEHAVIORAL OBJECTIVES:
1. The student will be able to extract DNA from common foodstuffs using kitchen ingredients.
2. The student will be able to state the function of each chemical used and explain the progression of these laboratory steps.
3. Show that yeast cells contain DNA.
4. The student will understand that some biotechnology may be quite simple and require only common tools.
