OVERALL ACADEMIC GOALS: (1)
The student should develop:
1. Abilities to do scientific inquiry
2. Understanding about science inquiry
3. Understanding of matter, energy and organization of living systems
4. Understanding of the molecular basis of heredity

BEHAVIORAL OBJECTIVES:
1. The student will be able to summarize and explain the general role of genes in the development of an embryo.
2. The differentiation of cells will be explained from a genetic perspective.
3. The timing of gene activation will be shown to be a product of the chemical function of genetic proteins
4. Genetic engineering, as explained through the sequencing of genetic expression, will be presented.
5. Students will gain the knowledge of generalized genes and the results of the expression of these genes.
