OVERALL ACADEMIC GOALS: (1)
The student will develop an understanding:
1. About the nature of science inquiry.
2. O the concept of the molecular basis of heredity
3. About the nature of science and technology
4. Of matter, energy and organization of living systems

BEHAVIORAL OBJECTIVES:
1. The student will be able to summarize and explain the general role of genes in the development of an embryo.
2. The differentiation of cells will be explained from a genetic perspective.
3. The timing of gene activation will be shown to be important for the proper development of an embryo.
4. Genetic engineering, as demonstrated in the production of chimera, will be explained.
5. Students will gain the knowledge of several specific genes and the results of the expression of these genes.
